Here\u2019s where to go when you\u2019re hoping to bump into fellow queer folks, especially after internship hours:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Bairro Alto<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LGBTQIA+ in Lisbon is pretty much synonymous with Bairro Alto. With its cobblestone streets, creative energy, and colorful buildings housing local shops and cozy caf\u00e9s, this district is a nice hangout spot during the day and a fun social place at night. If you\u2019re out for a casual weekend or after-internship meet-ups, this is a good place to start.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Pr\u00edncipe Real<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want a more laidback vibe, head north from Bairro Alto to Pr\u00edncipe Real during the day. In between highly rated restaurants and shops, you\u2019ll find lush gardens, local food stalls, and museums. Aside from providing a safe space for marginalized individuals though, they host exciting events, fun workshops, and insightful discussions to raise funds and shed light on important issues. Keep an eye on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/casa_t_lisboa\/?hl=en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">their social media<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for anything that lines up with your internship in Lisbon.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>LGBTQIA+ events &amp; festivals in Lisbon<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lisbon hosts some major LGBTQIA+ events, so if your internship abroad overlaps with any of these, don\u2019t miss the chance to experience them! All members of the community are welcome\u2014and encouraged\u2014to join, raise their voices, and stand in solidarity.
